Chronic Disease Awareness Day

Note: This event has already occured. Keep an eye out for our 2018 event.

Invididuals, organizations, cities and states across the country join Good Days each year to recognize Chronic Disease Awareness Day on July 10th (7/10), because 7 out of every 10 deaths in the U.S. are caused by chronic disease.

Join us to advocate on behalf of chronic disease patients across the country. This July 10th, share messages of love and encouragement on social media to show your support for patients who struggle with chronic disease using the hashtags: #CDADay and #CDAware

Not all chronic diseases result from lifestyle choices and behavior, but the ones that do cost us dearly. The most common chronic disease conditions, like cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes and obesity, are also the most avoidable. As a nation, we need to work together to decrease the rate of avoidable hospitalizations, spend more time being active, and adopt healthier eating habits. Awareness of chronic disease prevention and personal accountability are critical to reducing the number of chronic disease related deaths.

Chart paths to healthier hometowns by engaging your community leaders on access to healthy foods such as farmers’ markets, community fitness opportunities, or creating active routes to schools for biking and walking. Anyone and everyone can make a difference.
