This is an important time for us to speak up about the dangers of skin cancer (the most common cancer in America). But, first… what is skin cancer? Skin cancer is an out of control growth of abnormal cells in the epidermis that is caused by unrepaired DNA damage that triggers mutations. The two main causes of skin cancer are exposure to UV rays from the sun or tanning beds. The good news is, skin cancer is easy to treat when caught early and there are many different ways you can aid in prevention! Check out these sun-safety tips to help you reduce your risk.

We also created this downloadable PDF with skin cancer facts and sun safety tips that you can share with your friends!
