2021 Chronic Disease Day

Chronic Disease Day 2021

We recognize Chronic Disease Day on July 10 because chronic disease accounts for 7 of the top 10 leading causes of death in America. With preventable illness reaching a tipping point, our community members with rare and unpreventable conditions continue to suffer from lack of attention and resources. Chronic Disease Day raises awareness so that we can flip this dynamic.

This year, Chronic Disease Day has proven to be our biggest and most successful one yet! Landmarks lit up across the nation like Houston City-Hall, all the bridges in Boston and Little Rock Visitors Center in Arkansas on July 10th to recognize Chronic Disease Day. In additon, a majority of governors issued state proclamations on our behalf across the country!

Our signature Chronic Disease Day livestream event that took place on Tuesday, July 13th, discussed issues that impact the chronic and rare disease community. Clorinda was honored to have had the opportunity to interview Dr. Karen Hacker, Director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health. You can view that livestream here.
